Good Friday to You!

I hope you are having a great week and learning a lot. As I look at and pray about our church mission - '...to learn together and invite others to be committed followers of Jesus Christ...' I am encouraged by its simplicity and challenged by its importance.

After talking about heaven and hell, this Sunday we will talk about evangelism and sharing our faith. It is a natural response to thinking about eternal matters. Do you have someone you are praying for who is not a Christian? Keep praying, my grandfather accepted Christ as his personal savior in the final days of his life and we had prayed for him for a long, long time. Those types of prayers are important to God!

Our Connection Groups are kicking off and if you would like to joing one please let me know. We are in the process of adding 'seeker' groups where the entire focus will be on people who do not have faith in Jesus and at times are not interested. These groups are in the beginning stages of development, would you pray that they attract people who are not connected with God? This summer we will pause our sermon based Connect Groups and have classes and studies. Is there somethign you would like to learn about? Something you would like to teach? Again, let us know and we can get these scheduled and fulfill our mission of 'learning together...'

I recently ready Living Forward by Michael Hyatt, it is a book about creating a life-plan. I was sceptical at first, but I decided to dive in and follow the book to the letter. I have to say creating a life plan has changed my life and I would encourage you to take a look at this no matter what stage of life you are in. If you are breathing, God has a purpose for you to serve others!

I recently listend to a couple podcasts you might be interested in:

I also watched an interesting TED Talk about how our bodies and minds are connected: http://www.ted.com/talks/amy_cuddy_your_body_language_shapes_who_you_are

When I watched this I was amazed by how God created us and thought of Mark 12 - You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. There really is no other way than to be all in!

I pray you have a great weekend! Start one of your days with this Fernando Ortega video - I think you will be blessed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9rZ8k9m2hwo

Onward!
