As I am preaching about the Holy Spirit and our vocations this week I came across a great quote from Miroslav Volf:
All human work, however complicated or simple, is made possible by the operation of the Spirit of God in the working person; and all work whose nature and results reflect the values of the new creation is accomplished under the instruction and inspiration of the Spirit of God.
As I go off to work on Tuesday and Thursday in Waco, I am reminded how much God enjoys to be involved in all our work and that there is no sacred/secular divide when it comes to following the Spirit.
I think it is going to be very important for our congregation to continue to learn from others as we discover where God is taking us. Part of our mission reflects this (Our mission at WHBC is to learn together and invite others to be committed followers of Jesus Christ).
A book that I have put on my list to read is The Next Worship: Glorifying God in a Diverse World. Sounds as if it is right where we are at WHBC. It is written by Sandra Maria Van Opstal. Check it out and let me know what you think.
Two interesting articles that are about church life came across my screen:
And a training that I signed up for (you may as well, it is all online and it is FREE) is: Three Secrets to Reaching and Retaining Church Guests. Sign up at the link below.
I am so excited about this time in our church. There are new trails to blaze, new things to learn, friends to make and people who will be connected to God through what we do. Please start praying for our Easter Egg hunt and the families that will turn out.
Praying that God blesses each of you this week.
