Job Description - Pianist
 
Available 3/1/2016
Status: Part-Time, choir rehearsal Wednesday evening, Worship Sunday morning. The Pianist will report directly to our Pastor of Worship.

Our Church: WHCC is a small neighborhood church. We are in a dynamic and diverse neighborhood and we are in the process of learning how to be outreach focused. We are changing our name, our focus and even our worship style). Our worship is simple, sacred and sincere. We are searching for a person who has a heart for God, love for people and is ready for the challenge of hard work. Our pianist is more than a musician, she/he will be a vital part of our church and its ministry in our community.
 
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Be an active member of WHCC.
  2. Have the heart and skills of a minister and worshipper.
  3. Warmly support our mission and values.
  4. Use their gifts to be a part of the life of our church.
  5. Perform on piano and/or keyboards weekly.
  6. Attend all worship rehearsals.
  7. Attend Sunday morning prayer with Pastor and Pastor of Worship at 8.45, and 9.00 rehearsal with Worship Pastor.
  8. Attend Connection Group of choice at WHCC.
  9. Be available on occasion to accompany soloists or ensembles.
  10. Be willing and able to lead worship and rehearsal when the Pastor of Worship is absent.
  11. Provide a qualified substitute for any services or choir performances which she/he will be absent.
 
General Expectations
  1. Strong and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
  2. Work as a team player in cooperation with others.
  3. Experience as a pianist/accompanist/worship leader.
  4. Have strong vocal music skills.
  5. Has formal music training.
  6. Has the time and desire to be fully prepared for rehearsals and performances.
  7. Have strong sight-reading skills.
  8. Has an understanding of music in the context of worship.
  9. Good organizational and time management skill.
  10. A willingness to learn and grow.
  11. Has ability to meet attendance standards and work necessary hours to perform function of job.
  12. Has a positive, kind attitude.
