I can't believe that our Miracle of Mercy spiritual growth campaign is in its final week. If you think about it, we are really just beginning the Miracle of Mercy journey. What an incredible privilege to be able to give out God's mercy to others every day. Our Connection Group started a list of people who need to experience God's mercy and we all committed to praying for these people. When the question was posed 'who is going to be in heaven because of you?' we all felt the weight of that responsibility and decided to start praying about it.
Here is a good article about keeping our focus on reaching people as the world changes so rapidly.
In a couple of weeks we are going to start a study on one of my favorite books (forgive me Martin Luther) in the bible, James. You might enjoy reading the book through a few times in the next weeks, there is some great spiritual growth material in James.
I like to think of myself as an optimist - fellow optimists enjoy these quotes.
I found this short video that shows the essence of Celebrate Recovery. Take a couple of minutes to look at it and pray for our church and how we can be involved in this ministry of helping people with addictions discover freedom in Jesus Christ.
And finally - just some laughs in this video. Pray on!

The Miracle of Mercy - A Spiritual Growth Campaign
Beginning on Easter Sunday we are going to have a spiritual growth campaign at Western Hills that will last several weeks. We are going to focus on the concept of God’s MERCY. Our worship service will rally around the idea of Mercy, our Connection Groups will learn and discuss mercy, there will be daily devotionals encouraging our understanding of God’s mercy. Much of the world sees God as harsh and judgemental, yet mercy is the number one characteristic attributed to God in the Bible. When we understand and internalize God’s mercy the natural next step is to share that mercy with other people.
Is there someone you know who needs God’s mercy? Do you need a refresher course or a reminder in how much God’s mercy can energize and change your life? I am praying that through this spiritual growth campaign you will be refreshed, renewed in God. I also pray that God would bring someone across your path to invite to a service, a Connection Group or into a conversation. God wants to spread mercy throughout our area. Would you start asking God to do amazing things in our church over the next several weeks as we grow in MERCY!
