Good Friday Morning!
One of our values is: Worship that engages, accepts and connects and our supporting verse is, John 4:23-24(NLT) But the time is coming—indeed it’s here now—when true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth. The Father is looking for those who will worship him that way. For God is Spirit, so those who worship him must worship in spirit and in truth.”
Our worship is designed to be participation focused, not performance based, songs that connect us with God. We know that worship is powerful and when we engage God our lives change. We also know that every person in the service is at a different place in their spiritual journey, we have committed followers of Jesus, skeptics, those who are mad at God, and first time guests checking us out. So our worship is designed to accept people where they are and help them move toward God. We value worship and encourage you to as well, to be a true worshiper who responds to God's goodness every day. I am so grateful for our Choir and Barry as they lead us each week. Please pray each Sunday that God will draw people closer as we worship! This is one of the unique things we can offer our community.
We have a couple changes to be aware of, another one of our values is that we seek Servant & Gift Based Leadership. When Gina came on board we quickly realized she had some gifts we needed in the area of outreach and evangelism. After visiting with the Church Council we decided to have Gina focus on our goal of doubling our church involvement by 2020 as our Outreach and Evangelism Coordinator. Gina will work to help us reach out to our community, develop our 401 class and coach us on how to be an evangelistic church, Gina will still be playing piano at times.
We are also delighted that Marie Rogers will be coming back to play the piano about 40 weeks each year. Marie simply wanted to use her gifts and talents to serve her church! We feel as if God is putting puzzle pieces together for our church to make a great impact inn our community.
We also are losing our beloved Kristy and Lucas Everheart to the great white north. Lucas has taken a new job, which is great, up in Indiana. Their last weekend with us will be Sunday. Please take time to write a note of encouragement or thank them for all their volunteering at church. Kristy has served the children with a devotion that is inspiring and Lucas has spurred on our Men's Ministry and Choir. We thank them and know God has great plans for them in the future.
